Elly Owen's seasonal wine tasting events here in Newquay are focussed on flavour and fizz. Walk along the sand dunes or down the coast path and join us in Bay Bar at Fistral Beach Hotel for an evening of wine tasting, learning about bubbles and enjoy a few nibbles too. These wine tasting events are fun and informal. Award winning sommelier Elly Owen will talk guests through different regions, grapes and food pairings so you know what to drink during the longer evenings as we transition into summer.

Take home tasting notes, a new knowledge of wines and some vintner’s lingo to impress your friends over a glass of vino.

Friday 4th October and Friday 29th October at 6.30pm, £20 per person including nibbles.

Meet your sommelier

Elly has worked with celebrity chefs throughout Cornwall and was awarded the prestigious Imbibe Sommelier of the Year in 2020. An active figure in the Champagne Academy she knows a thing or two about our favourite tipple to toast with.

Bay Bar

Taking place inside the Trencherman award-winning Bay Bar, at Fistral Beach Hotel, wine club goers will be able to wind down with a glass in hand. Overlooking Fistral Beach and The Atlantic Sea this bar has unrivalled views and provides and perfect spot to relax and learn something fun. It’s the most scenic wine tasting experience in Newquay.

Once wine club is over feel free to stay awhile or visit again, safe in the knowledge that you can recommend a sparkling wine or two – will it be English or French?
