Meet the team

Here are some of the Fistral family....

Operations Manager

Daniel

Check in, Chill Out

Our Operations Manager Daniel ensures our guests are always smiling. With 10 years in the hospitality industry, Daniel’s passion is top notch customer service and having spent some of his time at Walt Disney World and Disney Cruise Line, he knows all too well about how to ensure a fabulous or ‘magical’ guest experience.

  1. When not at our adult-only hotel, you’ll find Daniel...

Enjoying the beach in the summer or keeping warm by the fire in the winter months with family & friends at The Red Lion pub.

  2. Number of countries visited...

    39 and counting!

  3. You decided to settle in Cornwall because...

A happy accident? Although I love the beaches and lifestyle, family moved here a few years back and my partner and I followed- we liked it so stayed.

  4. Your favourite midnight munchie is.....

I love pizza when it comes to naughty late night eats. The Stable on Fistral Beach is a favourite of mine washed down with their eye wateringly strong Rapscallion Cider.

  5. If you weren't at Fistral Beach Hotel, you'd be doing...

I'd probably be a primary school teacher still, that's what I was doing before joining the team here!

  6. Some notable Daniel hobbies...

Travel is usually the main focus of my time off, which has been quite restricted lately… I also enjoy walking the South West coast path and I play piano at home from time to time.

    VW California converted for adventures.

  5. Your favourite tipple...

I wouldn’t choose anyone, happy with my life!

Bar Manager

Jesus

I've got just the cocktail

You’ll find him in the Bay Bar, mixing, pouring and shaking our Fistral Classic cocktails and serving the best of the bay, but outside of the bar, you’ll find our Bar Manager keeping body and mind healthy at the local Cross Fit centre, running along the golden sands of Fistral or making waves in the surf.

  1. Favourite cocktail on the menu is....

Fig old fashioned. I’m not a whisky cocktail fan but this cocktail as a whisky mixer has the perfect balance of sweet/sour and fruit flavour with intense rosemary aromatics. It really makes it an easy cocktail to drink but not without an explosion of flavour in your mouth to surprise the palate.

  2. Name your favourite dish...

Definitely the Bavette Steak but for an amazing cocktail pairing off our menu Sushi. Chicken, mushroom or goats cheese dishes as well as dishes with mustard will combine with cocktails too for an explosive taste.

  3. What are you doing outside of the Bay Bar...

CrossFit, Running, Surfing, Cinema and Travel.

  4. We've heard you quite like motorbikes...

Yes absolutely, one of my favourite ones is Yamaha YZF R1 2020.

  5. Celebrity look alike is...

    Freddie Mercury

  6. Top tip for making the perfect cocktail...

Read about mixology, have passion and thrive in creativity.

Martina

Sparkling just like new

As Housekeeping Manager, guests have Martina to thank for creating that fresh and ambient atmosphere to wake up to. When Martina isn’t ensuring all our rooms are in the perfect condition to welcome our guests, you’ll find her socialising with her friends and family in the garden as much as possible (British weather permitting!).

  1. Give us your three top cleaning tips...

Clean as if it's your own room. Use plenty of elbow grease, hard work always pays off. And be happy, a happy person always cleans the best.

  2. Your favourite thing about Cornwall is...

The scenery, because I have travelled and seen many different places but I still think that Cornwall has some of the best scenery.

  3. If you could drive around in any car it would be...

An Audi R8 convertible and I hope we have more sunny weather.

I love a particular duck dish that my husband cooks, it's delicious
