Beach Painting Workshop

Join Gemma for a beach painting workshop! You'll kick things off with a beach clean sponsored by Waterhaul, followed by a serene painting session right on the beach.

overview

Join Gemma at 10am at Bay Bar in Fistral Beach Hotel, from there you will head down to Fistral Beach for a beach clean, sponsored by Waterhaul. You will be using their beach clean equipment, which is all created using upcycled ghost fishing net which they gather from the Cornish coast, saving it from harming oceanlife.

You will gather any beach plastic, rope, driftwood, and most importantly some sand to use in your painting.

If the weather is on our side you will paint on the beach, creating a textured shoreline beach scene onto either a canvas provided by Gemma or something you would like to upcycle. It could be anything, from an old canvas you have, an old skateboard deck, bellyboard, or big piece of flat driftwood. If you have something and want to check whether it might work in the workshop please let Gemma know in advance.

Gemma will have ghost fishing net fragments from Waterhaul for you to create texture with, as well as lots of other materials from Cornish businesses, even tea bag paper! But, feel free to bring anything along you want to experiment with.

If the weather isn't great, you will head back to the hotel and paint in the beautiful comfort and shelter of the hotel.

All materials provided by Gemma – unless you want to bring something along to use as a canvas or to experiment with texture.
