Opening the doors to Fistral Spa
Introducing two of our therapists at Fistral Spa, Leeanne and Sophie who are both core members of the treatment team, who alongside their fellow therapists, create a journey of true relaxation that will nurture and nourish body, mind and spirit.
What do you love most about working at Fistral Spa?
L: Ensuring our guests have a full experience, with total relaxation. I feel accomplished knowing a guest has left feeling at a place of peace and happiness.
S: I enjoy helping our guests start their day well. If I am able to nurture a client with a treatment to relax them ready for the day ahead, I feel fulfilled and content too.
Tell us about your best or most memorable treatment experience?
L: I had a lady who had lost her son. I felt honoured that she could open up to me about this. I would like to think I had helped her, even just for the hour she was with me. Knowing I can give a treatment that will contribute to their wellbeing, even just a little bit, is so rewarding.
What’s your morning routine before beginning a day of treatments?
L: I have quite an organised, efficient morning. I start with a refreshing shower, helping to release any tension before my day. It’s then a breakfast with my family, before dropping the children to school for their day.
S: Recently, I have started getting into Newquay early in the morning. I like being able to go for a jog or a swim before I start my treatments, it gives my mind and body a chance to awaken and feel prepared for the day ahead.
How do you take care of your wellbeing?
L: A balanced healthy diet I feel is key to my wellbeing. I find when you opt for healthier eating options, the variety for recipes really expands. I also like to ensure I have a good amount of sleep, feeling fresh and prepared for each day.
S: Personally, since I am working inside for the majority of daytime hours, I choose to supplement this with Vitamin D tablets, maintaining my energy. I of course also enjoy my morning activities alongside this.
Do you have any wellness secret tips you could share?
L: A good time to feel relaxed completely is listening to music. Finding your taste, exploring new genres and just enjoying how music can move you emotionally and physically. Fresh air is also important, venturing out onto the Cornish coast, visiting places with a breeze through your hair is a wholesome love of mine.
How long have you been working at Fistral Spa?
L: I have been working at Fistral now for 8 to 9 years.
S: I have been working at Fistral for 3 years.
How did you come to working in spa?
L: I decided, when in Sixth Form, to take a course in Hair and Beauty. I absolutely loved it; this began my career journey, and so I continued studying, eventually finding myself as a spa therapist.
S: I began studying hairdressing. I did this for two years, I then got persuaded to do beauty treatments and makeup for prom packages. I found myself thoroughly enjoying beauty, and so pursued this to become a therapist.
What treatment do you specialise in?
L: I partake in a majority of the treatments, I think it is very hard to choose just one, as they vary so much from each other, and so each encapsulate a different feeling or atmosphere.
S: Massage seems to be my best treatments. I do not have a specific treatment I specialise in, however I retain a lot of positive feedback from clients having received a massage from myself.
What is your favourite treatment to perform?
L: My favourite treatment to perform is facials, they each vary slightly, but I find it a soothing experience for the mind and body.
S: I especially like to do manicures and pedicures. You can really see an incredible transformation in them, I am pleased when a client feels revitalised and luxurious!
Treatments at Fistral Spa are available everyday 10am - 6pm with late night treatments available on Friday and Saturday until 8pm.
