Exploring Cornwall out of season
Why we LOVE September.
Out of the 12 months of the year, September is pretty high up on our list of favourite months. Cornwall is of course a top destination in the UK during the peak months, but is not one to be forgotten when the Autumnal days roll in. The beaches are still here, just a little less crowded, the surf is at its peak due to the early winter swells and you can grab yourself a stay from less than £100. WE know why September is the go-to month to visit Cornwall, but here’s a few reasons why we want you to fall in love with September on the Cornish coast too..
Warmer waters
Hot summer = warm waters in September. What a summer it’s been and over those warmer months the summer sun has been warming the waters ready for the Autumn – thank you! This is the perfect time to surf, swim or coasteer in the clear Cornish ocean waters…
Less crowds
The summer crowds have headed home making the experience to explore Cornwall a little quieter and easier. The Cornish coast is one of the most beautiful in the world and this is the best time to take a stroll down to a small cove or beach and have it to yourself for the day. Bliss.
Surf’s Up!
Newquay is known as the surfing capital of England and September is one of the best times to enjoy it due to the warmer waters and early winter swells. Our friends at Quiksilver Surf School are on hand to help with beginners or advanced surfers and hotel guests also receive a discount on lessons.
Easy access
The roads are clearer, flights are cheaper and the wait for everything is generally a lot shorter. With regular daily flights from London to Newquay you can go from tube to beach within an hour!
