Taking on the Newquay 10k
Fistral Spa members put their best foot forward
February brought a big event as runners laced up for the Newquay 10k, organised by Newquay Road Runners. And this year, we couldn’t be prouder of our Fistral Spa members who showed up, dug deep and made excellent time.
Back in November, our dedicated Fistral Spa members kicked off a 12‑week training programme, meeting every Saturday at 7am in rain, shine, and everything in between. Week after week, they built strength and confidence, showing commitment that paid off in the best way.
This year’s sold-out race saw 817 runners taking to the start line new Whitegate Road despite the February drizzle, but a little rain has never stopped our Fistral family. The determination was unmistakable.
History was made too: the men’s course record finally fell, with Peter Le Grice charging through in a phenomenal 30:39. Meanwhile, Emma Stepto’s women’s record was narrowly missed.
To every Fistral Spa member who trained, turned up, pushed through and crossed that finish line, we’re incredibly proud. Whether you chased a PB, conquered a personal milestone, or simply showed up for the joy of running, you’ve achieved something special.
Here’s to resilience, community and the kind of spirit that inspires us all. Bring on next year – we already can’t wait.
